International connections are important to us. Almost all chapters have so called twinning chapters in other countries. Hundreds of our members travel every year to our international meetings in Europe and even further. High class education and international networks and friendships is on offer.

Becoming a member goes through becoming a member in a local chapter (nuorkauppakamari / juniorhandelskammare). In larger cities there might be several chapters to choose from and in smaller towns the local chapter is an important local factor. The history of JCI Finland

JCI activities came to Finland already in 1954 after influences from Sweden. Starting as "Nuoret Talousmiehet", later renamed to Helsinki Junior Chamber, a group of young men gathered at Dansk Klubb to listen at interesting speeches and to develop their own leadership skills. The national JCI Finland was founded in 1957 and the first national president was Curt Vasström.

In 1960 was the first national Convention, which was held in Aulanko.
In 1966 the European Conference was held in Helsinki
In 1991 the World Congress was held in Helsinki
In 1998 Petri Niskanen was elected JCI World President.
